Expressing love through
art, poetry, and music – the Araneta Center holds a slew of exciting activities
to celebrate the month of love and romance, which coincides with the National Arts
Month.
The artsy and heartfelt
celebration, entitled “From the Heart,” kicks off with an exclusive ‘Love Art
Workshop’ on February 8 at the Gateway Gallery in Gateway Mall. It is an art
exhibit of 30 paintings that depict the country’s colorful history.
Over 20 hearing-impaired
and differently-abled kids from the Philippine Association for Citizens with
Developmental and Learning Disabilities, Inc. (PACDLD) and
Maria Lena Buhay Memorial Foundation, Inc. will participate in the
gleeful art session, where they will be asked to draw their own interpretations
of love. The artworks will be on view at the museum’s Love Wall this month.
This meaningful event is in partnership with the J. Amado Araneta
Foundation.
Lovers can also enjoy
swoon-worthy performances from talented Pinoy bands! On February 11, the new
and young pop musical movement known as PPOP Generation will hold a
concert at the New Farmers Plaza at 4 pm. Pinoy Boyband finalists Markus and
Allen will also serenade their fans at Ali Mall.
Acoustic performers will
also serenade shoppers on February 11, 12, and 14 at the activity areas of Ali
Mall, Gateway Mall, and New Famers Plaza. Top it off with a romantic swing
setup that provides a perfect backdrop for lovers. Roving musicians will also give
out roses to women for free.
Also, watch out for the
powerful performances of spoken word group known as Words Anonymous at the
Gateway Mall activity area on February 14. The group aims to promote the art
form of spoken word poetry all over the country. Shoppers can also enjoy sweet
treats plus special performances from Noel Cabangon and other surprise guests.
