The Matcha Tokyo in Araneta City’s New Gateway Mall 2 is the store’s second branch here in Metro Manila, and it opened its doors to the public on Thursday, January 4. It is under the Tasteless Food Group – the company behind brands like The Grid, Scout’s Honor, Poison Doughnuts, and Hanamaruken Ramen.
Located on the mall’s Coliseum Plaza, The Tokyo Matcha has a warm yet vibrant space featuring a minimalist-themed interior, and wood-accented furnishings. Their counter has an open bar where you can see the traditional process in making a matcha tea. They also have a counter where you can buy other merchandise and pastries.
If this is your first time to try The Matcha Tokyo, you can have a cup of Iced Matcha Latte, made with oat milk, raw sugar syrup, and of course the premium-graded Matcha. You can also try their Frozen Matcha Latte that is topped with a matcha-flavored soft ice cream.
